As we all know, San Diego Comic-Con at the end of every July is often the first time new genre shows are screened for audiences, in anticipation of their fall premieres. It’s where first premiere, and the buzz was built, for Lost, for example. Hollywood likes to take this step because buzz that starts at Comic-Con can build to major word-of-mouth, which equates to big ratings when the show finally premieres on TV.
But now that this formula is working so well for TV studios, they’re branching out more and more away from genre shows and into other types of television. Even reality shows are being screened, or are having panels held for, with stars on hand to answer fan questions.
The list of properties being showcased each year at Comic-Con is always a closely-guarded secret up until just a few weeks before the event. But another annual tradition is the leaking of titles, and the attempts by various media agencies to compile those titles into a list of what’s going to be seen.
So, based on various lists currently circulating the Net, here’s what we know will be at Comic-Con this July, on the television front.
ABC: Castle, No Ordinary Family, and V.
CBS: The Big Bang Theory and Hawaii Five-O.
Fox: American Dad, Bob’s Burgers, Bones, The Cleveland Show, Family Guy, Glee, Fringe, The Simpsons, and Terra Nova.
