Why, why, why did Michael Johns get eliminated from American Idol? The whole country was shocked, and MIchael Johns was too — thanks to a pretty mean trick played on him by Ryan Seacrest. But in this interview he seemed to have recovered his sense of perspective, and is grateful from support he’s received from fans (including Nicole Kidman and Dolly Parton!).
Hey, whatever happens Michael, you’ve got a career.
David Cook looked no worse for wear at American Idol’s most recent episode. He had been hospitalized with high blood pressure and heart palpitations, but seemed perfectly relaxed when he returned to sing Dolly Parton’s “Little Sparrow.”
“The whole thing kind of got blown out of proportion,” Cook told host Ryan Seacrest. “I have high blood pressure, and it spiked, so they took me to the nearest hospital. But I’m cool. I’m not going anywhere.”
Brad Pitt’s American Idol appearance left him speechless. Literally. Apparently his microphone wasn’t working (in the photo, one of the crew fixes it for him).
But the show’s outreach program “Idol Gives Back” also left other celebs, like Miley Cyrus, so moved that they struggled to find the right words. “There’s people that can give hundreds, thousands,” she said. “[It’s good] to have that self-power and be able to say, ‘Okay, no matter how much I’m putting in, I’m making a difference.’ “
It was bound to happen sooner or later. Chikezie Ezie’s erratic performances and poor song choices finally caught up with him. He was eliminated in the last American Idol episode, but at least he has the consolation of a slot in the Tour.

Danny Noriega may have lost all hopes of winning American Idol,
but his singing career may have just begun. He’s already gotten a job offer, and from Rosie O’Donnell no less.
Rosie offered him a free cruise to Mexico on O’Donell’s R Family Vacations…and a job.
“I don’t know if you have to sit around the American Idol studio and look sad for the next few weeks — because I think that’s part of the contract,” joked O’Donnell. “Come on there, and I want you to sing ‘Tainted Love.’ I think you’re fantastic. And I think you’re a bold and brave and beautiful young man. And I admire you, Danny Noriega. You have an amazing voice. And your hair looks good straight.”
