DVD Releases for Tuesday March 13, 2007
Now, I know that you’re not going to be interested in much more than the highly-anticipated Casino Royale DVD release, but we have to be thorough, don’t we?
Here is what we have on the DVD release menu for Tuesday March 13, 2007:
Casino Royale
Favela Rising
Harsh Times
The Holiday
Mendy – A Question of Faith
Paper Dolls
Shortbus
It’s a good idea to go aheadĀ & skip the majority of these movie titles & just head on over to James Bond land in Casino Royale, but it’s actually worth checking out Favela Rising.Ā Favela is a documentary that focuses on a man that came out of the Rio slumsĀ Ā to leadĀ a nonviolent movement known as Afro-reggae.Ā Ā RT didn’t give the movie an astounding rating, butĀ it’s still an important film.

DVD Releases for Tuesday March 6, 2007
First off, let me say that it’s great to be back among the movie news world & I hope that you are ready to taste some Borat.
For the week of March 6, 2007 the DVD releases are as follows:
Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan
Confetti
The Empire in AfricaĀ
Fast Food Nation
Kettle of Fish
Let’s Go to Prison
Requiem
Woman Is the Future of Man
You know I have a soft spot for Borat, so this week is going to get an A+ even if Kettle of Fish is trying to bring it down to a B-.Ā With Borat’s new film being set loose on the world at large, who knows what else will follow this mayhem.
The romantic comedy/mockumentary Confetti is being released on DVD today, making Jimmy Carr fans worldwide ecstatic, while South Korea’s Woman Is the Future of Man, despite a high rating from Rotten Tomatoes, doesn’t really have folks lining up at the movie store.
All in all, this week in DVD releases was worth is just to see charismatic Borat hit the boring shelves.Ā Who’s with me?

DVD Releases for Tuesday February 20, 2007
This week’s DVD releases aren’t looking too shabby, especially with the release of much-anticipated film Babel.
Here’s the complete lineup for DVD releases for Tuesday February 20, 2007:
American Hardcore
Babel
Crossover
Flushed Away
For Your Consideration
The Godfather of Green Bay
Going Shopping
A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints
Keeping Mum
Lunacy
Man of the Year
The Prestige
Shut Up and Sing
Did I tell you this was a big week, or did I tell you?Ā Babel aside, a good family movie is the newly released Flushed Away, there’s not too many okay family movies out there, so you gotta take what you can get, right?
Definitely skip over Robin Williams’ latest attempt at humor, Man of the Year, unless you want to end up in some kind of laugh-devoid coma.Ā But you’re pretty much going to haveĀ see The Prestige, if even justĀ because ofĀ the all-star lineup including Hugh Jackman, David Bowie, Scarlett Johansson, Christian Bale & Michael Caine.
All in all, this week’s DVD releases wereĀ none too shabby, provided that you skip most of them.
