Many a child has dreamt of being a movie star. I suppose even some adults do have these dreams. While only a very small percentage of these dreamers will ever get to live their fantasies, we can have a taste of the life behind the movies in Universal Studios theme parks!
Universal Studios Hollywood has been dubbed the “Entertainment Capital of L.A.” for good reason. Visitors can have a blast at the theme park, tour the studios where some of the greatest movies were filmed, and experience Hollywood at its best. They always have something new to offer, and since Halloween is coming up, one of the most looked forward to events is Halloween Horror Nights. Some of the most popular attractions are the mazes (all new!), the terror tram, and more scare zones.
There is also a Universal Studios site in Orlando, which also offers Halloween Horror Nights. There are two theme parks, Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida. They are both unique in their own and offer totally different adventures. Needless to say, you have to visit both theme parks to get the complete Universal studios experience!
Did you know that there is also Universal Studios Theme Park in Japan? Yup, for those who are in the eastern part of the world, the Universal Studios experience is within reach. This theme park has the best ride attractions: Hollywood Dream, The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman, and Jurassic Park. It also has shows such as the Magical Starlight Parade, Peter Pan’s Neverland, and Wicked (Wizard of Oz). If you are planning to visit Universal Studios Japan, you do not have to worry about hotels. Just visit the comprehensive list of hotels near the park that Japanican has put together.

Myers now in Love Guru
After a relatively lengthy hiatus from the big screen, Mike Myers is back with a new movie, and this time it’s not another Austin Powers sequel.
the new movie is The Love Guru, which was also written by Myers himself. The story revolves around Pitka, an American who grew up abroad and was raised by gurus. He goes back to the US to take advantage of the growing self-help industry, promoting himself as a self-styled “love” guru. Alongside Myers will be co-stars Jessica Alba, Justin Timberlake and Verne Troyer.
I’ve already seen the initial trailer for the movie and there were some funny scenes there. Would this be as funny as Myers’ Austin Powers movies? I really don’t know, but I’m a big enough fan of Myers that I’m willing to take a gamble on this movie.
The Love Guru will be shown on June 20, 2008.
The Love Guru was written and stars Mike Myers, and costars Verne Troyer, Jessica Alba, and Justin Timberlake doesn’t look that great. The writing is really good, but what threw me off was Meyers accent, which just didn’t fit the character. Maybe it was just me, but I didn’t laugh at all. Even Timberlake wasn’t funny, but he could have been if would have put a box over his thing.
Pitka an American raised outside of his country by gurus, returns to the States in order to break into the self-help business. His first challenge: To settle the romantic troubles and subsequent professional skid of a star hockey player whose wife left him for a rival athlete.
Diablo Cody post-Oscars
there are only a few pictures that are so powerful that it is able to clearly convey its meaning in just a single frame…
Take for instance this picture of Diablo Cody a day after she won the Oscars for Best Screenplay.
I think it is the best post-Oscars picture that I have seen my whole life. Cody won for the script of the indie hit Juno. I would suggest that teens watch this comedy that also serves as a cautionary tale,
Brolin the next Terminator?
In a recent interview, Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins director McG had tantalizingly hinted that actor Josh Brolin could play the Terminator opposite Christian Bale, who has snagged the role of John Connor.
McG said that the movie is being prepared and that the script is about finished. He said that he is hoping that everything will be ironed out in the next two weeks.
The new Terminator movie will be set after Judgement Day and thus will be a very different kind of movie from the first three Terminator movies. This time, obviously, there will be no Terminator from the future.
McG kind of spilled the beans about Brolin in this response to a question of who his dream Terminator would likely be: “…And there’s guys out there like Russell Crowe and Eric Bana, bring a good physicality, they do what they do, but I don’t know if they’re exactly right at the end of the day. (Smiles) Josh Brolin is a very exciting actor – we’ll see.”
Brolin could be a good choice and a big plus is that he actually can act.
