I don’t know if you believe me, but this weekend, I am surviving on baby food.
Well, I just moved houses, and I ran out of money. So though I actually have other food here, like oatmeal, milk, decaf coffee, and other cereal stuff, I decided to make use of the baby food I bought.
I bought it last week because it said the flavor was “soya and fruits”. I was on a heavy soy derivative kick and I remembered that back in high school, I liked eating baby food. So I decided to try eating baby food again.
Upon my first spoonful the other day, I remember thinking that “This thing could use some more sugar.” It also had this slightly bitter taste that I had attributed to its being made for babies. I did notice that baby stuff always tasted a little funny. I was going to give the baby food away to someone, anyone, who might have better use for it, until I actually ran out of money over the weekend and had to live on what I had on hand. I had baby food, so I decided to try it with milk and a bit of sugar.
The verdict? It tastes good! Seriously!
While I am definitely not going to live solely on it over the next two days, since I do have oatmeal and other cereals, it’s good to know that when I’ll have nothing else to eat, this could well be my fallback.
Speaking of cereals, I also got on a Muesli kick this week, and I must say, it was absolutely effective in cleaning my insides. Because of the Muesli, my bowel movements regularized. Which led me to think that I need to be on a modified macrobiotic diet: whole grains, pure unprocessed food like meats and veggies that were cooked with healthy fats like olive oil, soybean oil, canola oil, etc. But I will be able to realize those plans only when I’m done and paid for this audio project that I have in my hands..
But back to baby food. Whoever thought that baby food could become an adult’s salvation, right? Only in Lorie’s world. :p
