Has she really? No kidding? Was it just a typo error – “d” first “g” last? That what Paris Hilton actually found was not “God” but her “dog”?
Well, to the cynical, that could be the line of thinking.
(By the way, for the curious, Paris’ dog is a tiny Chiahuahua whose name is “Tinkerbell.” That’s also the name used by Paris as her password in her mobile phone and email accounts. That’s why intruders have managed to break into her e-mail accounts. But the reports said that despite this, Paris has retained “Tinkerbell” as her password.)
Paris Hilton with her “god”, er.. her dog Tinkerbell.
Going back to the story, Paris I think deserves the benefit of the doubt.
Interviewed Sunday by television journalist Barbara Walters from the medical wing of a Los Angeles jail, Paris said she has finally gotten over the party lifestyle that has made her famous.
After just a few days behind bars, she said she has found God and claims that she’s “not the same person I was.”
“I used to act dumb. It was an act. I’m 26 years old, and that act is no longer cute. It is not who I am, nor do I want to be that person for the young girls who looked up to me,” she said.
She said she has decided to take the new chance that God has given her to make a difference in this world. One of the ways she plans to do this is by building a “Paris Hilton Playhouse” for sick children. “I know now that I can make a difference, that I have the power to do that,” she continues. “I have been thinking that I want to do different things when I am out of here. I have become much more spiritual.”
Walters said Paris told her she had not been wailing, sobbing or screaming during her first three days in prison, as had been reported.
She asked Paris what had led to her being “reassigned” to house arrest.
“I was not eating or sleeping. I was severely depressed and felt as if I was in a cage. I was not myself. It was a horrible experience,” Paris said.
She was sentenced last month to 45 days in jail, but with good behavior, Walters said, Paris was due to be released on June 25 after serving a total 23 days.
“I feel that the purpose of my life is to be where I am,” Paris told Walters. “My spirit or soul did not like the way I was being seen and that is why I was sent to jail. God has released me.”
When she is released, Paris said, she might like to help in the fields of breast cancer or multiple sclerosis, diseases that her grandmothers suffered, or build a “Paris Hilton playhouse” for sick children.
Paris, who said other inmates had been friendly, added that her skin was very dry because she was not allowed any moisturizer.
“It doesn’t matter,” she said, “I’m not that superficial girl. I haven’t looked in the mirror since I got here.”
And just when she may be getting her head together, her father, Rick Hilton, is in the midst of planning a huge “get out of jail” party for her release. The party will take place in Las Vegas, the Sin City itself. Kinda’ risky when your daughter is talking about how she found God and wants to change here life, eh?
Father Hilton has asked the big honchos of Las Vegas to drop their fees and host an all-out bash for his daughter’s homecoming. Oh, by the way, he also expects them to provide accommodations and airfare for the event. It is yet to be seen who will comply.
