Snyder said that he is talking with Frank Miller, who created the 300 graphic novel, about writing and drawing the graphic novel that will be the basis for the second film. Snyder said that until Miller finishes the novel scriptwriting will not commence.
He further revealed that the sequel will take place between the Battle of Thermopylae and the Battle of Plataea. Snyder said that he will definitely return for the sequel.
WWE Films kick production into overdrive
The WWE has been expanding its reach by expanding outside its wrestling roots and getting more and more serious with its entertainment division. Its WWE Films has already released three relatively well received movies and it looks like it is really going full blast with being a true entertainment conglomerate. Variety has recently reported that the company has hired Steve Barnett as the Senior Vice President for Production. Barnett is the co producer of 300 and The Spiderwick Chronicles and was also the executive producer of Land of The Dead and Diary of The Dead.
Barnett is going to be relied on to help kick WWE Films into overdrive as it announced that it will start producing a minimum of one theatrical release and four straight-to-DVD movies annually. Mr. Kennedy Ken Anderson is going to be the latest WWE superstar to make the transition to movies as he prepares to star in Behind Enemy Lines 3: Colombia. Other projects in the works include John Cena’s new movie 12 Rounds, which will be directed by Rene Harlin.
