Art is the expression of the soul. Or, to be less dramatic about it, you can use art to appreciate life, keep it around as a relaxing hobby, or develop any kind of relationship to it that personalizes your current attitudes as they rest. It’s a complex concept, reduced to the simplest of elements, and used in a self-defining way.
But outside of those semantics, there are practical reasons to get started in art, whichever way you choose that to be, including working with the idea of art therapy, using it as a meditation, molding it to your financial advantage, using it to bond with a group, or even choosing it is a healthier habit than say, drinking, or overeating.
