Amy Winehouse barred from US — but Grammys go on!
Amy Winehouse was expected to perform at the Grammy Awards this weekend. But she was denied a US Visa and will have to sing (and accept her award) via video feed.
How sad. Though Amy was nominated for 6 awards, this achievement was overshadowed by her drug problems. Her publicist issued this statement: “Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic two weeks ago, and although disappointed with the decision, has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her recovery.”
Funniest moments in the Oscars
“Welcome to the makeup sex.” That’s how Jon Stewart, host of the Academy Awards, opened the show — referring, of course, to the end of the writer’s strike and the start of (hopefully) better TV.
Of course there were other funnyOscars moments, including Project Runway’s Heidi Klum’s squirrel impersonation.
