Jon Stewart will be hosting the 80th annual Academy Awards on Feb. 24 at the Kodak Theater. Apparently, the Oscar head honchos were very happy with him: “He is smart, quick, funny, loves movies and is a great guy. What else could one ask for?”
Stewart is best known for hosting The Daily Show, his Emmy-winning “fake” news show on the Comedy Central.

Finally – a real awards night! The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) awards was resounding success — mainly because it was the only show that had the Writers’ Guild blessing, and the celebs came in full force.
The Sopranos brought home many awards, including Edie Falco (outstanding female actor in a drama series) and James Gandolfini (outstanding male actor in a drama series). “This is the last official act as Sopranos, together,” he said. since the show ended after its sixth season.
30 Rocks’ Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin also won “the actor” for their comedy performances, though The Office was named the best comedy show.

Mark your calendars: on January 30, the day before the fourth season kicks off, ABC will air an “enhanced” version of “Through the Looking Glass.”
The special episode will have lots of bonus facts and clues, while footnotes / explanations will run on the bottom of the screen to help viewers who might have missed things the first time around.
Big question still hangs in the air, though: only 8 episodes of the season were finished before the writer’s strike started. What’s going to happen next?
