Ben Stiller is reportedly interested in a new movie that was once offered to Eddie Murphy.
Apparently, Stiller is currently negotiating to star in the Universal Pictures movie Trump Heist. The movie, which may be retitled Tower Heist, will be about a group of con artists who think up of a plan to swindle the people who live in the upscale Trump Tower in New York.
As I have previously mentioned, Eddie Murphy was attached to this movie as the lead star. He was supposed to co-star with other black comics Chris Rock, Chris Tucker and Dave Chappelle. But with Stiller now taking over, the script is being rewritten and a new direction is going to be taken.
Brett Ratner is said to be attached to direct the movie.
Ratner in talks for “Shrinking Man” remake
Hollywood director (and a personal pet peeve) Brett Ratner is reportedly in talks to direct the remake of The Incredible Shrinking Man. The movie, which is under Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment, will be produced by Brian Grazer. There are reports that Eddie Murphy is already attached to star in the movie.
The Incredible Shrinking Man was first made into a movie in 1957 and it starred Grant Williams. For this remake, the plan is to put a comedic and fantastical spin to it — the movie will tell the story of a Las Vegas magician who has been put under a magic spell that makes him shrink. He now must find a way to reverse the spell cast on him before he gets smaller and smaller and eventually just disappear.
