With interest in the proposed new Ghostbusters movie heating up, everyone’s trying to weigh in on the movie. Of course, interest won’t be complete without speculations as to what will be included in the movie.
One of the more crucial plot points in the new movie was more or less confirmed by two of the actors in the first two Ghostbusters movies — Bill Murray and Sigourney Weaver.
Weaver was actually getting Ghostbusters questions during her press tour for Avatar and she finally revealed the info that Bill Murray was teasing people with. She revealed that in the new sequel, her son is all grown up now and is now also a Ghostbuster. She said she may be involved with the movie even if it’s just a small part but Bill Murray will have a little more in terms of screen time — because he will play a ghost in the new movie!
Bill Murray as a ghost is going to be awesome. I’m already sure he’s going to be a scene stealer. Just look at his cool cameo in Zombieland.
Ghostbusters 3 in the works
Prepare for a new Ghostbusters movie.
According to different media sources a new Ghostbusters film is being developed by Columbia Pictures. This is not going to be a reboot though, but a sequel to the original movies. The script is reportedly already being developed. What’s bugging Ghostbusters fans is whether the original cast of Billy Murray, Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson will be back.
Harold Ramis, in an interview, revealed that the Judd Apatow will be involved in the new movie as a producer and that Ramis, Aykroyd and original director Ivan Reitman are consulting on the project. Bill Murray may also get involved at some point in the project. The coup here is that the old ghostbusters will appear in the movie as mentors.
Who do you guys think should be the new Ghostbusters?
