My favorite actor Christopher Eccleston has snagged a role in the much talked about biopic on Amelia Earhart. The movie will be directed by Mira Nair and will star Hilary Swank in the title role. The movie will be produced under Avalon Pictures and Fox Searchlight.
Eccleston is set to play the role of Fred Noonan, who was Earhart’s navigator and was the other person who disappeared along with her when she attempted to circumnavigate the world.
Eccleston will be joining Richard Gere, Virgina Madsen, Mia Wasikowski and Ewan McGregor. This is the first movie of McGregor and Eccleston together after appearing in Christopher Doyle’s Shallow Graves.
Hilary “wigs” out on Oprah
Hilary Swank got a new ‘do from Oprah Winfrey, who snipped 9 inches from her hair during her TV show to donate the tresses for a great cause—making wigs for women experiencing chemotherapy.
While Oprah’s not going to start any new hair trends anytime soon, Hilary admired her scissor-work and said. “If this talk show-acting-producing stuff for you doesn’t work out, you have a whole new career in haircutting.”
