Chris Evans was recently announced as the actor chosen to play the role of Captain America in the movie The First Avenger: Captain America.
Director Joe Johnston chimed in about the casting choice, especially since Evans also played The Human Torch. Johnston said that with the way the movie is written, Steve Rogers (Captain America) will be shown before and after he is given the super soldier serum. Rogers is originally a mere 98 pounds and very lanky. But the transformation turns him into the perfect human being. But instead of hiring two people, Johnston said that Evans will play both roles but he was mum on how exactly they will do it.
I’m guessing that they will probably use the same technology employed in making The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
Wolfman to appear in 2009
Director Joe Johnston has proven that he has the skills to bring the right amount of scares and action to the big screen with such movies as Jurassic Park 3 and Hidalgo. This reputation is going to be tested though with his new movie, an adaptation of the The Wolfman. The original 1950’s movie is a classic horror movie and forms part of the pantheon of what is called the Universal monsters. This new movie is supposed to be first of a series of reimaginings of these memorable movie monsters.
The new movie, which will be released February 2009, will star Benicio del Toro as the Wolfman alongside Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt and Hugo Weaving.
If special effects wizard Rick Baker’s wonderful makeup effects for Del Toro as the wolfman is any indication, the movie is going to be worth watching.
