MGM is launching its own broadcast network. Sort of.
Set for digital broadcast is “Me-TV,” a network which MGM is filling with classic shows from its own library. Titles include Cheers, M*A*S*H, Star Trek, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Bob Newhart Show, and the original Green Hornet. Me-TV, which stands for “Memorable Entertainment TV,” is a collaboration between MGM and Weigel Broadcasting of Chicago.
Me-TV will be available to any affiliate station with the digital equipment capable of broadcasting it. MGM plans to rotate shows regularly to provide fresh (retro) content.
