Usually even in the most terrible movies, at the very least you can get a bit of viewing pleasure from the cars featured in the movie, especially in car chase scenes. However, some movies feature cars so terrible that there’s no pleasure to be found in them. This is pretty hard to do – who doesn’t love cars? 5 Famous Movie Cars
There have been several notable cars in pop culture over the past several decades. Some of these cars have been sexy pieces of technology out to awe the masses, like James Bond’s Aston Martin. Other cars have been frightening pieces of work – the stuff of nightmares – such as the Plymouth Fury from Christine. And some cars have simply been downright cute. Here are five cute cars from pop culture that will forever be remembered as adorable and geeky.
1. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang – Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is the lovable vintage racing car in the 1968 musical film of the same name. In the film, Chitty is able to do fantastical things like sprout wings and fly or grow floatation devices and float. The design for the car was inspired by a series of famous English racing cars built in the 1920s – this model of car was informally known as Chitty Bang Bang. A total of six cars were built for this film, but only one of them was actually fully functional.
2. The Batmobile – Holy batmobile, Batman! There have been several incarnations of the Batmobile over the years, but we’re talking about the one featured on the 1966 live action Batman television show. [Read more…]
