It’s been reported that actor Shia LaBeouf is now back on the set of the Transformers sequel.
If the picture above is any indication, LaBeouf’s Sam Witwicky character is in for a world of hurt. There are talks that the injury he sustained in his car accident more than a month ago will be written into the movie so that the production of Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, will not get delayed.
Possible sequels to Indiana Jones
The fourth Indiana Jones movie hasn’t been shown yet but George Lucas is already talking about a possible fifth or sixth installment to the well loved franchise.
In an interview with Fox News at the Cannes Film Festival, Lucas kind of spilled the beans about sequels to the Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull. In fact, he said that “there is more than a strong possibility” for another Indiana Jones movie.
Lucas said that he and Steven Spielberg have made certain plot points that will make it possible to do a sequel to the upcoming movie.
Lucas further said that even though he hasn’t told Spielberg or star Harrison Ford about the plan, he said that he has an idea of making Shia LaBeouf’s character becoming the lead in the possible sequel and Indiana Jones coming back in the same capacity as Sean Connery did in the last movie.
The idea sounds interesting enough. But can Shia LaBeouf carry a movie this big in a couple of years? We’ll see how well he does in this new movie.
Jonah Hill in Transformers sequel?
If Shia LaBeouf was the breakout star of 2007, it looks like Jonah Hill is the next Hollywood breakout talent. Hill, who stole the show in Accepted and was just flat out hilarious in SuperBad is reportedly in negotiations to appear in the Transformers sequel. Hill will reportedly play the sidekick/comic relief to Shia LaBeouf’s character, Sam Witwicky.
Shooting for the sequel will begin this summer and the scheduled release for the movie is on June 2009. LaBeouf better be prepared or he might get upstaged by Hill.
Jonah Hill won’t be in Transformers sequel
A week ago, I blogged about the possibility of Superbad star Jonah Hill getting involved in the Transformers sequel. But it is likely that this won’t push through anymore. According to Entertainment Weekly, negotiations for Hill to star alongside Shia LaBeouf in the sequel to Michael’s Bay smash hit. For Jonah Hill fans, that’s kissing goodbye to the possibility for the actor play the comic foil to Sam Witwicky.
Hill is set to appear in another sequel though. He will have a cameo role in the sequel to Night at The Museum to be directed by Shawn Levy.
LaBeouf to appear in new thriller
Shia LaBeouf continues to prove that he is the new IT guy in Hollywood by bagging another good role in a movie. He is set to appear in The Dark Fields, which will be directed by Neil Burger.
The movie, which was adapted from Alan Glynn’s book, is said to have the same atmosphere as both Fight Club and The Game. Both movies were directed by David Fincher. Burger’s last movie was The Illusionist starring Edward Norton.
The Dark Fields tells the story of an out of his luck loser who manages to get access to a secret drug that makes a person smarter. He becomes very successful but discovers that the drug has deadly and permanent side effects.
LaBeouf is also set to apepar in the new Indiana Jones movie, Eagle Eye and a segment of the New York, I Love You film anthology.
