Do you have kids aged 10 and above who have not outgrown their love for TV shows featuring cartoon characters? Parents who have growing up children often find it a bit difficult to tell their kids upfront to change the TV programs they watch. When kids get hooked to cartoons, it’s often hard to keep them away from those characters when they’re growing older.

If you think that Spongebob Squarepants is for small children only, you’re not quite right. This TV show also appeals to the growing up kids and one of the attractions here are the unique names of the cartoon characters. The lead character alone is already quite popular and add to that his friends such as Patrick the starfish and Squidward.
For parents who want to stay away from cartoons, the Muppet Show is a good program to introduce to your kids. Contrary to what many believe, this show was actually not meant for small children but it was a hit among the young viewers. The presence of Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, famous Sesame Street characters, is a plus factor.
If you’re after real people, then The Adventures of Pete and Pete is one of the best comedy shows on TV for the pre-teens. With a weird family such as the mother having a metal plate on her head and a super hero named Artie, this show takes you to the activities of two brothers who have the same name in what they perceive as a strange world.
