American Idol’s top five are working hard to earn their spot and stay this week. Their effort showed in a good way last night as each gave really good performances during the “Rat Pack” episode. But the contestants that stood out the most were Adam Lambert (as usual) and Danny Gokey, the last two to sing.
Danny Gokey got the thumbs up from judges with Kara DioGuardi and Simon even agreeing that he brought the swagger that they were looking for that night. As Simon said, “What you have today is a swagger and a confidence. I felt you came out to prove a point. That was outstanding.” Gokey sure must be feeling good.
Adam Lambert ended the show with a bang that left the judges both very entertained but still as confused as ever with Kara saying that “You’re shocking in a good way. Confusing and shocking and sleazy and superb and way over-the-top but I don’t know. I like you. Craziness!” I for one love Adam and boy is he crazy good. Paula is right this time when she said that Adam looks like Michael Phelps during the last Olympics.
As for the other contestants they did really well but since there are really very few spots left I guess the three will have to do some fidgeting till they find out whether they’re safe or not. I do hope that Allison Iraheta , who just turned 17 last Monday, gets to stay despite Simons warning that she could be in trouble. We need at least one girl left there!
UPDATE: Adam Lambert was in the bottom two! Gasp! Matt Giraud went home… Oh well.
